I Paid Good Money For Marvel Unlimited, And You Should Too
Marvel's on-demand comic service is the way of the future.

Marvel Comics has digitized huge swaths of their history, and these comics are available on demand through the service. You can go back to the beginning and read massive runs of old Fantastic Four and Amazing Spider-Man (there are small, weird holes in the collections that I assume will be eventually filled). And you can get fairly up to date; they add comcis every week, but they're comics that are six months old. Basically right now you can get caught up to everything happening in Marvel Comics up through the summer.

They offer three tiers - a $10 a month one, a $70 annual one and a $100 super annual one. The super annual one comes with a toy, I think, but that's it. The $10 a month one is tempting, especially if you just want to dive in and read a bunch of old comics one time. It's cheaper than dropping big money on collected editions. You could, technically, become an expert in Fantastic Four for ten bucks. But I've been wanting something more, to get back into the mainstream superhero comic book world (of Marvel anyway; DC is a disaster right now, as near as I can tell), and so I went for the $70 subscription.
